Just off Vultee Avenue is the Nashville International Airport official observation area. It is a designated area that you won’t get run off from for spotting from unless it is dark! They have trash cans for you but if you need to go to the restroom then you’ll have to go down the road some to the gas station. It is only about a minute drive.
The Good of Planespotting at KBNA
The thing I appreciate about this particular location is that you are literally right beside where sports teams board and deplane their charters. Over 2 days, I had a front-row view to the Vanderbilt Commodore football team, Phoenix Coyotes and Tennessee Titans all either getting on their charter flight or arriving.
Obstructions for Planespotting at KBNA
You’ll notice obstructions on all takeoffs and landings and most taxiing aircraft are very far away from you at this observation area.
