Cobb County Airport McCollum Field Address:

While I have not yet been to Cobb County International Airport – McCollum Field (KRYY) I do have a standing invitation from the airport manager to come spot there. Aside from this though, KRYY certainly promotes itself as an airport that welcomes planespotters with its playground and viewing areas.

I am told that the airport has a busy military presence and it is also home to the Georgia State Patrols Aviation division, as well as, leases hangar space to a certain very famous actor and filmmaker.

Atlanta Flight Operations Facility

The airport is home to the Atlanta Flight Operations Facility of the FAA. It is a 32,050-square-foot facility. It houses six (6) specially equipped BE-300 King Airs that are used to measure the integrity of instrument approaches and flight procedures that pilots fly in the National Airspace System.

The airport sits on 309 acres of land. It is less than 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
