Ringo Starr, born Richard Starkey on July 7, 1940, in Liverpool, England, is a legendary drummer, singer, and songwriter best known as the drummer for The Beatles. Joining the band in 1962, Ringo brought a distinctive, steady drumming style that became foundational to the group’s sound and success. Beyond his percussion work, he occasionally sang lead vocals on Beatles hits like “With a Little Help from My Friends” and “Yellow Submarine.” After the band’s breakup in 1970, Starr launched a successful solo career, releasing multiple albums and touring with his All-Starr Band. His contributions to music have earned him induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both as a Beatle and as a solo artist.
